"I’m running to give voice and power to those who have been neglected by the status quo because this is our home!"
He is the son of a 3rd generation Black Tucson mother; and a Puerto Rican veteran who found a home in Southern Arizona. Andres graduated from the University of Arizona in 2016 and became a leader in Congressman Ron Barber Sierra Vista Office.
He began using his federal policy experience at Southwest Fair Housing Council as a Policy and Community Development Advisor. Andres lobbied for housing protections on the state and federal level as well as introduced criminal justice reform and racial equity bills. His policy leadership was acknowledged as the community delegate in Austin, San Antonio, Baltimore, and New Orleans. He brought that knowledge back to create real change for Tucson's housing market.
Upon returning, Andres was offered a position as the Senior Policy Advisor to Council Member Lane Santa Cruz.
